Great intro to wine/food pairing

Lia over at Swirling Notions has a great introduction to how to pair foods with wines. It is short and to the point so you really have no excuse to not read it.

What makes her primer stand out compared to others is that she comes right out and states:

As I’ve mentioned before and will probably mention again, there are a couple of ground rules in pairing and the first of them is that there are no steadfast rules. If you like a certain wine with a certain food, then it’s a good match. Period.

We couldn’t agree more - no one knows what fits your palate better than you (that is close to a motto around here). Still, her guidelines are a terrific place to start when planning your meal and picking a wine to go with it (or, preferably, vice versa).
