Lia at Swirling Notions brought a really good topic - what to do with that left over wine? I tend to put leftover whites in the fridge, but leave reds out on the counter. I find that if I put the red in the fridge, I am not patient enough to let it come to temperature. Consequently, I never get back to it and it goes bad.

I have been very happy with the Private Preserve spray. It seems to fend off oxidation for several days when you do it right. It can be a bit tricky though. Be sure to use a good quality tight stopper - do not just stick the cork back in the bottle.
You cannot beat the simplicity of the Vacu-Vin system. Just pump the bottle down, and store the bottle overnight. I wouldn’t recommend it for storing longer than a single day, but this is great for people just starting to learn about tasting. It is well worth having several extra stoppers!
